Ogermagie

    - Gut magic works like this. They have a lev 2 and a lev 4 wizard. They all know all of the 6 spells. All the spells have 3+ but as reported for each time a spell is cast after the first in a round it is multiplied (3+,6+,9+...)
The wizards can keep any number of spells in play but any unit can only be affected by one. For dispelling purposes in following rounds they are treated as complexity 7. The first spell heals the wizard. The magic missile inflicts 2d6 strength 2 hits without armor saves. One spell adds +1 S to a unit, one +1 T and gives regeneration. I forgot the last one. Most of the spells do some kind of damage to the wizards and all the pumping spells have a range of 6" for the lev2 and 12" for the lev 4 wizard.

    neugierig :D

got the chance to talk (well, my spoken english is crappier than I thought it would be, but of course I blame the lack of sleep and the Lustria-like temperatures at GD for that ) to Gav (and Jake Thornton) at the german Games Day.

I'm not sure if I remember all of the stuff correctly so please don't quote me on anything.

    Wood Elves:
As already mentioned, Anthony Renolds is working on the WE armybook and he "has a lot of fun doing that".
One of the reasons why WE are one of the last armybooks on the shedule is that they are not really a that popular army (I guess same could be said about Chaos Dwarfs and DoW) and that one army has to be the last...

According to Gav, there'll not be Centaurs in the WE army, but there'll be the mentioned "Elves + Forrest-folk = WE army book" thing.

    Chaos Dwarfs:
Iirc he mentioned something like that it might take 4+ years until there's something going to happen with the Chaos Dwarfs.
When they are going to redo them, they'll be completely redone. Also some of the current aspects will probably stay. E.g. their background around slavery will most likely stay together with maybe some Greenskins (Blackorcs are very likely cause the Chaos Dwarf "created" them after all).
There'll not be more individual CD units like the Hellcannon until the CD book is realeased, cause they want to do them as a complete army, not just some DoW like collection of units.

    DoW:
Nothing seems to be really planned so far. The 3 aspects of DoW (common DoW army list, DoW in other armies (maybe along the lines of the latest allies system?) and RoR will stay, but it's not that uncommon if they wouldn't get an army book at all...

    Ogre Kingdoms:
They had a few miniatures there. One painted and assembled (sp?) Ogre Bull. Looked a lot better than the one from the preview, but the miniature was also a lot smaller than I expected it to be.
Ogre Tyrant, Butcher, Bruiser (the fighter-hero) and Hunter were the others. Then there were the Scraplauncha (absolutely greta, but again, the Rhinox was smaller than expected) and the Gnoblar Trappers. 8 or 9 different models, smaller than Goblins, some of them were wearing Wolf pelts. Damn cute. Definately a must have.

Pretty much all of the Ogre characters are S5 T5. I think the Butchers are the only ones with S4 T5.
The Tyrant pretty much has Blackorc-lord stats with the exception of slightly reduced WS, but increased number of Attacks (5) and 5 wounds. The Tyrant and the lvl4 Butcher are 200 points each.

Ogre Bull charge was correctly explained in one of the other OK@german GD related threads. Ogre clubs are -1 save and the special Ogre shields can be used as shields (giving the additional save for being equipped with HW+S) or add. Hand weapons.

Iirc Lord charactes are the Tyrant and the lvl 4 Butcher, heroes are the Hunter, lvl2 Butchers & Bruisers. No Gnoblar characters. Ogre characters are not allowed to join Gnoblar units.

Ogre characters are allowed to buy titles that work similar to the special ability system of the High Elves or the bloodline abilities of Vampires. In addition every (?) Ogre character is allowed to buy Pet-Gnoblars (e.g. Look-out Gnoblar, Luck Gnoblar (one reroll of a ward/save per battle), Sword Gnoblars (add. S2 hit). Each character is allowed to buy a different number of Pet-Gnoblars where the magic casters are allowed to buy the most of them.

Maneaters are pretty badass. They are immune to psychology and stubborn. In addition they can be equipped in a similar way to characters: different equippment in a unit. One of the items available is the Cathay Longswrod: +1 WS, +1I and armour piercing. Another is e.g. a set of handguns (Ogres are using these similar to pistols...). They are a rare choice together with the Gorgers and uhm...Gnoblar Trappers?

Gorgers have a very similar statline as TK Giant Scorpions and move on the field in later turns as they are attracted by the smell of blood. The system works similar to the "It came from below" rules, but they have to enter the table at a table edge. Unbreakable, killing blow, 75 points.

The Scraplauncha is a mix of a catapult (S3, killing blow, I *think* it uses the large template) and a chariot. 165 points and a special choice. Missfire chart is meant to be pretty funny. One of the results lets the Rhinox charge 3D6 (2D6?) straight forward, cause it got shot in the balls by the catapult it's pulling.

    new plastic Giant:
There'll be a new plastic Giant. It'll be about a head taller than the current one and it's meant to be highly customizable: Different sets of arms/hands, heads/whatever.
Took some time till I got some info about that from Jake, but as Gordon wasn't around, he was a bit more liberal to talk freely. Gordon seemed to have the job to make sure that noone was giving away too much info...at least that was what it looked like.

The Ogres have 2 Lord Choices A Ogre Warrior and an Ogre Magic User as usual. The warrior is an absolute monster in combat, and the magic user uses "Gut Magic" and generates 4 Powerdice and 2 Dispel Dice.

They have three heros. A typical Ogre warrior hero, and typical magic level 2 hero, and a Hunter, which is also an Ogre but cannot join any units. He comes equiped with Saber Toothed tigers and a Crossbow that acts exactly like a Bolt Thrower except it is Str 5 instead of 6.

There are 4 Core Units. Basic Ogres that have all the stats of Chaos Ogres, and can choose some interesting weapon options. Then you have an upgraded version that has 1 more leadership.

Then you have Gnoblars and Gnoblar trappers. These are the only units in the army that are on any base less than 40x40. Gnoblars are almost exactly like Goblins, and even suffer from Animosity. The trappers are Skirmishers and Scouts.

Next we have 3 Special Choices.

Yetties are basically like Ogres with an extra Str. They have a freezing Aura that makes any unit in base contact at -1 to hit, also they have ice weapons that count as magical unless you hit them with a flaming attack.

They have Ogres that have Cannons strapped to their arms. These things are nasty. They shoot if I remember correctly a Str 5 shot with armor piercing. You roll the artillery dice to see how many shots they shoot. Once they shoot they need to do absolutly nothing the next turn in order to reload.

Then we have the Tuskor Scrap Launcher. This is a chariot with a catapult on the back. it uses the 5" template (Yes the Big one!) which does a Str 3 hit with no armor saves IIRC.

And finally the Rare choices. There are Maneaters which are basicly Ogre Pirates equiped with dual pistles. They count as 2xmulti shot with a pistols range + 2D6". Then we have the Slave Giant. It is 35 points cheaper than a normal giant, and follows all the same rules except for the following:

He is NOT Stubborn, though his leadership is still 10
he does not wield a club, instead he has a ball and chain.
On bigger than man sized targets their is a possibility that he wraps a chain around the models neck and strangles them. The unfortunate victim must pass a toughness test or take 2D6 Wounds
And finally replace the swings club entry in the man sized column with swings chain.

And Last but most definatly not least is the Gorger. He is fielded in a unit of 1 and is pretty cheap. When he moves he must always end his movement phase closer to the enemy. Also he must charge if he can, and may never overrun. Most importantly he comes on the board the same way a dwarven tunneling team does except their is no chance he will ever get lost. He can enter from any board edge and counts as coming back after pursuing off the board.

The magic is the most bizzare. They have six spells as normal but all of them are cast on a 3+ if you want to cast the same spell twice with different magic users the cost is doubled (for example if I cast spell A with magic user A the casting value is 3+. Now I want to cast spell A with magic user B, the casting value is 6+, if I want to cast it a third time its 9+, etc.) All magic users know all 6 spells and they are all aura type spells with a range of 12". Most of them also have debilating factors (ie cast this and take a str 6 hit, etc.) level 4 magic users may only ever use 3 dice to cast a spell, level 4's may only ever use 2. In addition are the spells are treated as RIP spells so they remain in effect until dispelled, which you can do on a value of 7.

They also have Names you can give your characters. They work in the exact same way as our bloodline powers (ie they take away from your magic allowance, but are not magic weapons) Some of the are quite insane. prime example is 1 that gives +1 toughness and makes you stupid for 15 points.

As awesome as that was it got even better. Right next to the Ogre Kingdom book was a picture of none other than Gav Thorpe. He happened to be on a lunch break at the time. So I waited around BSing with alot of the other Studio members. Finally he arrived and I had a chat with him. Heres basically how it went. (Please note I am not quoting word for word, I'm just trying to pass along the idea of the conversation)
