LatinoReview has learned that screenwriter Stuart Beattie (Pirates of the Caribbean, GI Joe) has put together a script, based on the best selling novel "Halo: Fall of Reach," in hopes that he can do a presentation for Microsoft to convince the company to make a "Halo" movie.
Beattie went beyond the writing by hiring conceptual artist Kasra Farahani (Hancock, Spider-Man 3) to put together some art from certain scenes in the script. There are a total of five concept pieces, check out the first one below (featuring Master Chief in the middle) and stay tuned for the rest some time in the future.
"Halo: The Fall of Reach" is a 2001 science fiction novel by Eric Nylund based on the "Halo" series of video games and acts as a prequel to "Halo: Combat Evolved," the first game in the series. It is set in the fictional "Halo" universe, taking place in the 26th century across several planets and locations. The novel details the events which led up to the game and explains the origins of the Spartan II super soldiers, narrating the story of the series protagonist, the Master Chief.
At this point, neither Peter Jackson or Neil Blomkamp are attached to the project.
"The script is, first and foremost, a character-driven story about a soldier named John who was kidnapped or "conscripted" by the UNSC when he was just six years old, and then brutally trained to become an elite Spartan warrior known as Master Chief 117.
The script then takes us through the horrific first contact with the Covenant hordes on the doomed colony world of Harvest, and then climaxes with the spectacular fall of the UNSC forward base on Reach, during which every other Spartan is slaughtered.

Here is site's summary of the script, which is written as a first installment in a trilogy.
The script also gives detailed outlines for the second movie, HALO: RISE OF THE FLOOD, which takes place entirely on the Halo ringworld, and the third and final movie, HALO: BATTLE FOR EARTH, which roughly follows the events of Halo 3, the game.
One cool advantage of this first script is that (like the shark in JAWS) you don't even see the Covenant until halfway through the movie. And because all the creatures are CGI creations, this cuts the budget down dramatically and makes a first Halo movie that much more viable. For Halo fans, it's like the prequel that provides all the answers to questions they've thought about for years. For non Halo fans, it's an exciting action movie that provides a clear, concise introduction to a world five hundred years in the future with relatable characters and a terrifying alien menace."
After they crash-land on an artificial ring-world called "Halo", a navy captain, his surviving marines, and a genetically-and-surgically-enhanced supersoldier called "Master Chief" must find out what the Covenant, the genocidal alien race they are at war with, are looking for on the ring. However, Halo holds more secrets than either side imagined.
