Gibts vielleicht noch ein Frontier aus der LOTOW Serie?

Ich halte es nicht für "verloren".

Und ich gebe das Projekt nicht auf, zumal ich in "Alpine Wars" vor wenigen Jahren einiges an Arbeit gesteckt habe, solte es doch zusammen mit Rob Broom als 4. Teil der WWI-G'schicht realisiert werden.

Vielleicht als WAB = "Warhammer Austrian Battlescene" ?

Mal schauen, ob GW die Exklusivrechte hat .......

wir haben noch einiges an WAB-Büchern im Shop. Falls noch wer Bedarf hat ......

Muss zugeben WAB ist an mir vorbeigegangen und kann dazu nichts sagen.
Aber gibt es dafür nicht jetzt das ähnliche Black Powder / Hail Caesar / Pike and Shotte von Warlord Games. Das soll sich ja ähnlich spielen. Was dann auch der Grund war, warum es abgelehnt wurde.

Vor allem hätte es niemandem weh getan, wenn WAB zu den Specialist Games dazugekommen wäre - der Löwenanteil der "Arbeit" für die Supplements ist eh von der Community gemacht worden.
Ich glaub halt wirklich daß es der Widerspruch zum "Rundum sorglos Konzept" war, der für GW inakzeptabel war, denn der Hobbyist darf einfach nicht zu anderen Miniaturenherstellern schauen, denn wenn das auf FB/ 40K übergreifen würde, wäre die Cashcow in Gefahr...

Das WH nicht zum Konzern passt war ja schon seit längerem klar. Was extrem ungut ist, ist diese "wenn ich es nicht mach darf es auch kein anderer machen"-Einstellung. Bei Rob wären die Sachen wohl nicht so schlecht aufgehoben gewesen...

Auch bei mir war war WAB der erste (nicht ganz geglückte) EInstieg in HTT. Dann halt FOW.

Danke für die Hintergrundinfos. Wie du schon sagtest, auf jeden Fall schade, dass die historische Landschaft einen Partizipanden verliert - insbesondere, da es einer war, der vor allem viele Einsteiger angesprochen hatte

one other that also approached GW to do so. But not me

I did have a second edition of Warmaster done - it was just not wanted - I

I think you have to think of WH as just something Jervis and I started - with
the Perrys - as a personal project. We wanted to print and produce WAB ourselves
originally - but were unable to do so - mostly as GW has proprietry rights in
the Warhammer brand of course. We had the money and everything set-up - we
didn't need GW to do it. because of that it was initially set-up as a joint
ventue company - with GW having the controlling interest (but doing nothing
apart from that). For some years we (JJ, me, Perrys) ran the whole thing pretty
much as we wanted - until it got too big for us to manage - at which point...within
GW to arrange things like production and printing, and - eventually -despatch -
though we did all that ourselves to start with. GW recharged all the handling to
us as a third party. At the very beginning we even held the stock ourselves - so
the original print run of WAB lived in my garage for quite a while! WH was
absorbed into GW mostly for accounting reasons - because GW insisted on
retaining ownership the WH accounts had to conform to the same standards as
other GW companies (e.g. GW USA) - which meant that the accounts charges
actually exceeded any potential profit! In the end GW ended up with something it
never really wanted - and only retained ownership of out of consideration to me
and Jervis. The Perrys - of course - went off and did their own thing with Perry
Mins.

Sorry to see it go - but I'm afraid it never sat comfortable with GW and I think
they've at least done the decent thing and given up - which - I believe - is
what should have happened when Rob went.

Tja, das logische Ergebnis wenn man das Produkt an Forge World gibt, dessen Chef von Anbeginn an ein entschiedener Gegner von WAB war...

Trotzdem schade, das System war zwar vielleicht nicht das beste, aber die Supplements waren gut und es hat viele Leute dazugebracht mal was historisches auszuprobiern und es hat in jedem Fall den 28mm Markt wiederbelebt...

Leider passt es halt nicht ins Rudumversorgungskonzept (Regeln, Miniaturen und Farben), auf das viele Gamer offenbar stehen und das von GW, PP und FOW erfolgreich praktiziert wird.
WAB Kunden warend fürs Konzernkonzept eine Gefahr - sie mußten sich ja bei anderen Firmen nach Figuren umsehen und selbst dabei hatten sie noch die völlige Freiheit - und daß dann 2 Leute die gleiche Armee haben, aber verschiedene Figuren - geht nicht, da schließen im Management die Hirnschaltkreise kurz, denn da könnte am Ende ja ein mündiger Kunde dabei rauskommen, der selbst Entscheidungen trifft...

Eine leider traurige Nachricht an diesem Tag gibt es aus Nottingham zu berichten. Warhammer Historical schließt bzw. hat seine Pforten geschlossen. Nun ergibt der Abverkauf an Regelwerken und Erweiterungen in den letzten Wochen und Monaten einen Sinn. Hier die offizielle Ankündigung:
