Guten tag,
Ich kann nicht in Deutsch schrieben, so I will continue in English... I continue to learn german, so I hope I'll be able to use it with you some day
I would like first to address a big "Danke" to the Warmachordes players who warmly welcomed me yesterday... Playing in English si I could understand the game and explaining some of the rules was very kind of you.
My name is Melchior (for real), I'm French (from a country where being welcomed that friendly in miniature associations is... rare) and am living in Vienna since July. Currently unemployed, I live here with my austrian girl and look for a job : I finished my PhD in december.
With regard to gaming, I spent most of my time on RPG : I am both GM & player, but I must confess that I have a slight preference for the GM's office. I used to play quite a lot in France, but my PhD made I was a bit unable to have regular sessions during the past 2 years... so I devoted myself to do other things regarding the RPG universe : I was secretary of an association in Nice (Nizza), organised the RPG activities in french games festivals, wrote some scenarii & reviewed games. I also organised the last edition of a RPG creation contest lately, so I kept doing things linked to RPG, but few actual game sessions.
My history with miniatures is splited in two parts : I played Confrontation almost 15 years ago, not much, only had a few minis. Then nothing until last year, when I started over with French friends. I have a Dystopian War army (Prussian Empire), two starter boxes for Eden (a French miniatures game, which have an English translation (rules & stat cards) as well as a german one (for rules only)), and a game called SMOG (victorian fantasy). The two later being skirmish games (Eden is post-apo).
I look forward to start Hordes soon, since I'll get the Legion part of a two players box from a friend. I'll go to France between 4.17 and 5.12 I think, so I will have the game after that. I saw two games yesterday, and would love to try it out if someone is ok to explain to me the rules (I already rode the initiation rules)...
And if someone is interested in trying Eden (which is quite a fast game) or to play Dystopian Wars (or SMOG), I'd be happy to bring everything. I have not much experience of the games, but am really looking forward to play it.
Sorry for the long post, and... bis bald !
