SmogCon East – initial details.

So, the cat is out of the bag and its time to give some more details of what we are planning.

First, I guess its worth explaining why we are doing a second event.
There are a few reasons. We love putting on the show, and hopefully you
folks love attending. So, more Smog can only be a good thing right? Plus
we have all this shiny new kit (scenery and boards) that deserves to be
used more than once a year).

There are changes planned for SmogCon Prime V (not least of all
because its out fifth anniversary which is pretty huge) and we want to
do a test run of a few things to make sure we iron out potential hitches
before we launch tickets and sign up for 2016, so a smaller but still
action packed weekend event to test will help.

Finally, there are people out there who can’t make it to the UK, but
might want to get a taste of the Privateer Press convention experience,
so taking SmogCon on the road lets us show them a good time and meet new
people.

With all that in mind, SmogCon East will be held August 1st – 2nd in
Brno Czech Republic. Yes, we were not kidding when we said we were going
East!

The event will be held over two days, hosting a Masters format event
as well as smaller events including Hardcore, Spell Draft and more. We
hope to secure an Iron Gauntlet qualifier for the 2015/16 season also.

Alongside the competitive events, we will be hosting a full Iron
Arena (with more exclusive PP swag to earn) as well as the return of the
Golden Thrall painting competition to SmogCon. We also will be flying
out PP staff to hang out all weekend and play games of Warmachine and
Hordes with attendees.

There will be 256 tickets available, with each ticket lined to one of
the competitive events, so you are guaranteed a spot in the event at
the point of sale to prevent disappointment or scrambles to book events.

Tickets will cost £40 for the full weekend.

We have secured a fantastic hotel rate, including
food and rooms for two nights (Friday and Saturday, with two lunch meals
Saturday and Sunday, an evening meal on Saturday and breakfast both
days). These rates will be available via a web link, with the weekend
hotel costing you £60. This room rate is in part comped by the SmogCon
ticket so you are getting extra value if you chose to stay on site.

Full details will be coming out shortly, and the aim is to get
tickets up for sale June 1st. So keep an eye on the feeds for them.
