    First Annual Warmaster Worldwide Campaign

This game is designed so that a campaign can be fought and the outcome decided on by all the Warmaster players that wish to be involved. The idea is simple: Each nation will be represented by a single player (the Commander-in-Chief) who makes the grand tactical decisions (marching orders) for the field army. The rest of the Warmaster community is invited to fight any battle that the field army is involved in. As each battle is announced, players have 1 week to fight the battle and then winner should send in their results. The average result of these battles will determine the real outcome of that battle and what happens in the game. The game will run for at least 3 months and up to a year. If you are interested in playing, please read the following rules and send an email to the game masters indicating you wish to join. If you are interested in starting the game as one of the generals for a nation, please state which nation. We will pick the general for each nation at random from everyone that responds. We are asking for people to RSVP so that we have an idea of which nations can be included in the campaign. If there is not enough interest in a certain nation then we will not be able to include them in the game.

    --- THE RULES ---

    -- nations --
Each nation will begin the game in control of two provinces (cities) and one capital. The provinces will be laid out in such a way that a player's capital cannot be attacked without first capturing at least one province. Each nation will also begin with one field army worth 2,000 pts in it's capitol. To keep it simple, this is the only army that a player has -- the army cannot be split up into smaller armies and send in different directions - and it is always moved as a whole entity.

    -- commander-in-chief --
There is a single Commander-in-Chief ( CinC ) for each nation. This CinC will be determined at random at the start of the game, but can be voted out of office during the winter season. The CinC is responsible for determining the course of the war by directing his field army where he thinks it will do the most good. If he expects a battle will take place, we can include a message to his field generals that gives basic guidelines on how many losses can sustained before they should quit the field. At the end of the Fall season, anyone that wishes to run for the office of Commander-in-chief for his nation for the upcoming year must announce that they wish to do so. Each player will be given the opportunity to send a single email to the game masters explaining why they would make a good Commander-in-chief. The game masters will compile all of the 'campaigning for CinC' emails receieved and post them on the mailing list for players to read. Votes will be taken and tallied during the winter season so that a new CinC may be in charge for the next year. Though it is probably easy enough to find someone's email address, we will disclose the email address of each CinC in the seasonal reports. We are leaving it up to the individual CinCs to handle any politial intrigue and backstabbing through their own emails.
