      Die Chancen für ein 2tes Team sind ein wenig gesunken: Im ersten Durchgang haben sich 22 Länder beworben. Somit sind nur noch 10 Slots zu haben, Australien und Italien fehlen aber beispielsweise noch.

      Vergesst das mit dem 2. Team. Das geht mit ziemlicher Sicherheit an die größeren Länder, was ja auch nicht ganz unfair ist.

      Zumindest in Deutschland gibts doch ein paar Leute, die halt nicht zur "in-group" rund um Ulisses gehören, die auch gern ne Chance aufs WTC gehabt hätten.

      Das WTC richtet sich nach den FIFA Regeln, soweit ich weiß. Die bestimmten was als "Land" gilt, und die englischen Inseln hatten da schon immer viele Slots, einfach weil sie etwas andere Nationalstaats-Konstruktionen dort haben als wir auf dem Kontinent.

      Ne im ernst, in das deutsche Team kommt man nicht rein, v.a. wenn es nur 1 slot gibt. Ich freu mich beim ersten WTC dabeigewesen zu sein, aber wenn dieses Mal ein reines Austria-Team an den Start geht, schwinge ich auf beiden Seiten die Pom-Poms.

      Die FIFA-Regeln in dieser Version sind eigentlich nur eine Extrawurst für GB. Bei Fussball-Weltmeisterschaften wird die Anzahl der Startplätze eines Kontinents durch die Stärke des Kontinents entschieden, nicht durch die Größe. Kontinente gibt es im Sinne der WM-Community nicht, daher wäre die richtige FIFA-Variante hier, die zweiten Startplätze nach Stärke zu vergeben, nicht nach der Größe des Landes.

      Oder gleich Olympia-Kriterien und dann "Großbritannien und Nordirland" als ein Team. :)

      ja, aber nachdem du hier keine qualifikation hast können sie halt sehr wohl sich mit einem englischen,schottischen,walisischen,irischen,... team anmelden ;)

      ansonsten, warum eigentlich nur 5 spieler? gibt doch mehr als genug fraktionen mitlerweile? dh vielleicht hier insistieren darauf das man größere teams hat (8 spieler zb) :)
      GW-Regeln sind nicht immer gerecht, dafür aber meist schlecht gebalanced.

      Das mit den "Olympia-Kriterien" wurde eh schon fürs WTC2013 andiskutiert, hat sich aber aus verschiedenen Gründen nicht durchsetzen können.

      Die Frage nach einem für alle als gerecht empfundenen Partizipationsmodus werden wir wohl nicht so einfach lösen können.

      Der Ansatz über die Spieleranzahl pro Team wäre auch interessant, doch persönlich finde es schon mit 5 pro Team schwierig genug, den Überblick im Paarungsprocedere zu behalten. Mehr Spieler würden das ganze noch um einiges komplexer gestalten - was jetzt nicht unbedingt von Vorteil sein muss. Da wäre es mir schon fast lieber, wenn mehr Teams mitspielen könnten.

      Aber es is nun mal so, wie es is. Warten wir mal ab, was sich da noch so tut und welche Länder sich noch anmelden. Vielleicht ist ja das Interesse in anderen Ländern, die 2014 noch nicht dabei sein können, so groß, dass das WTC-Kommitee für 2015 von sich aus die Teilnahmekriterien anders gestaltet.

      First of all, thank you all very much for registering for the 2014 World Team Championship. Those of you who attended last year made it a very memorable occasion, and we hope to see the same enthusiasm, drive and good cheer this year. Meanwhile we also welcome a few new countries, who I am sure will make their mark as well.

      With the event growing in size, some people have asked if we intend to grow the event in size. It's a pretty tricky proposition, given the nature of the tournament, but currently we are still entertaining all options. We would really appreciate your feedback and thoughts on this, so we have prepared a small survey that you can fill in here: Event size survey. Feel free to talk it over with your players, of course.

      On another topic, to make your registration 100% final, we ask for a small deposit of 100€.

      This will of course count towards the eventual ticket price. We can give you a few details about the ticket, although not everything is final yet. As before, the ticket should cover most of your needs the entire weekend, including:

      o Hotel room Friday-Sunday
      o Full board Friday-Sunday
      o Shuttles from the airport (depending on arrival time)
      o Entry to the WTC 2014
      o Swag bag, booklet, etc
      o Free Wi-Fi (properly this time)
      o ...

      The total price of the ticket should be around 650€ for the entire team of 5 (so 550€ after the deposit), but we expect to offer some options for room upgrades as well.

      * Increase the number of teams, but keep the rounds at 5, I don't mind a possible tie-break.
