SmogCon 2015 – Event Breakdown

With the schedule for 2015 now published, its time to break down the rules for each event to allow you to plan for your weekend of gaming.

The Iron Arena will run from 09:00 Friday – 17:00 Sunday and provide open play tables for anyone to play pickup games. Each game played will earn you points which can be traded in for all manner of cool PP swag. There is no ticket required for this.

The Bodgerthon will be similar, allowing players to experience some of the madcap fun of the Bodger line.

All Warmachine Hordes will follow the standard SR rules as detailed below, subject to any required changes on publication of the SR 2015 pack.

Hardcore –

50 Pts, One List, 7 Minute Turns

Road to the Masters A –

50 pts, Two lists, D&C 1, Deathclock

Spell Draft –

35 pts, One List, Timed Turns

Midnight Madness (Speed Machine) -

50 pts, Two lists, 30 minute Deathclock, D&C 1

Iron Gauntlet –

50 pts, Three Lists, See Iron Gauntlet rules for full details

Road to the Masters B –

50 pts, Two lists, D&C 1, Timed Turns

Commanders Crucible –

50 pts, Four Lists, (25-50 pt battlegroup plus attachment/0-25 pt support), Timed Turns

SmogCon 2015 Masters –

50 pts, Three Lists, D&C 1, Deathclock

SmogCon 2015 Team Tournament -

Three man teams, 50 pts, 1 List, Deathclock

Only the team captain needs to reserve a ticket.

Last Gasp –

Ich würde mich gern für folgende Turniere anmelden (falls ich einen Platz bekomme...):

Road to Masters A
Midnight Madness
Road to Masters B

Sollte ich fürs Road to Masters A bzw. B keinen Platz bekommen, würde ichs bei Hardcore bzw. Commander's Crucible versuchen (wenns da noch Platz gibt...).

Aber mal schauen, wie es dann vor Ort so ausschaut. Wenn die Masters-Qualifier hoffnungslos überfüllt sind, dann würd ich auf die Fun-Events (WmHo/High Command) ausweichen und mal schauen, was in der Iron Arena so los ist.

Ansonsten kann man sich ja auch immer noch früh genug vor den Turnieren anstellen und auf Restplätze spekulieren.

Beim Teamturnier wäre ich auch dabei, wenn noch ein Platz im Team gesucht wird (und ich mich nicht fürs Masters qualifiziere [wovon ich ausgehe ;)]).

Tickets for each of the events will go live on Sunday 30th November at 19:00 GMT.

Once you have decided what event you want to take part in, simply chose your ticket from the drop down (one per person per event) and fill in your email address, name and if your SmogCon ticket was bought by a friend, the email address they used to buy it.

You will then be emailed a confirmation. Tickets do not need to be printed as we will have registration sheets on the day for each of the events.

Please note, the Warmachine and Hordes tournaments are full on this year, with each event being up to six rounds. You will only be able to take part in one tournament per day, but remember, top three seed the Masters this year, and there will be Iron Arena points for all players who complete every round.

For those of you planning on playing casual games, either in the Iron Arena, or the Bodgerthon, you will not need a ticket. Open play is accessible day or night, for the duration of the event.

Commander's Crucible ist folgendes Format:

Commander’s Crucible [X] – The event consists of X rounds, and Theme Forces cannot be used. Players select a faction, pact, or contract and construct a number of battlegroup lists, each consisting of one warcaster or warlock, the warjacks or warbeasts in his or her battlegroup, and any models attached to his or her warcaster or warlock. The number of battlegroup lists required is equal to the number of rounds in the event minus one.
Players also construct a single support list containing units, solos, battle engines, and warjacks/warbeasts that are not part of a warcaster/warlock’s battlegroup. This support list is combined with a battlegroup list to create the player’s army list each round. Battlegroup and support list combinations cannot exceed the point size of the event and cannot fall more than 10 points under that point size (including warjack/warbeast points).
This variant can be used only at events with a point size of 35 or greater. Point limits for the battlegroup and support list(s) are defined in the table below.

During the list selection phase, each player secretly chooses a battlegroup (represented by its corresponding warcaster/warlock card) to combine with their support list. Each battlegroup must be played at least once during the event.

Beim Registrieren muss man neben dem eigenen Namen und Mail-Adresse auch die Mail-Adresse angeben, die das Ticket bezahlt hat - zumindest habe ich das so aus der letzten Nachricht rausgelesen.
